What a great idea from Thinkpublic. On Mondays they share what they learnt last week.

Having spent the summer buried in learning theories, I am surprised that I have registered so hastily for an online 3 month open course on Connectivism being run by Connectivism's developer George Siemens, who is the Associate Director in the Learning Technologies Centre at the University of Manitoba. Stephen Downes is to co-facilitate the course.
"Connectivism and Connective Knowledge is a twelve week course that will explore the concepts of connectivism and connective knowledge and explore their application as a framework for theories of teaching and learning. It will outline a connectivist understanding of educational systems of the future. This course will help participants make sense of the transformative impact of technology in teaching and learning over the last decade."
This course is described as a Massive and Open course and is free - currently over 1500 participants registered to start the course next week on the 8th September. If you would like the course to count for credits there is a charge. Be prepared to use a wide range of online tools and take part in conversations. For further details and enrolment please see the Connectivism Wiki. Facebook group is here.
